It seems that this production was a panic
in more ways than one. For reasons that
are not clear, two of the original cast members dropped out just a week
before the performance was due to be staged (a case of
artistic temperament, or perhaps a clash of personalities?). However, Richard Herrington
stepped into one of the leading roles at the last
minute, while Roland Garrad, who was also directing the production,
covered the remaining role, losing his trousers (see
below) in the process. Since I do not
know the background, it would be unfair to name the two "drop-outs",
so that, I am afraid, must be left to
speculation. |
